BigSmall Brewing is a small Aarhus-based amateur microbrewery.

Focused on innovation and audacious flavor combinations, the brewery needed a visual identity that felt just as experimental and playful as the beers themselves, while remaining simple, efficient, and flexible enough to adapt to an ever-changing lineup of drinks.

The name itself is inspired by Aarhus being known as “the smallest big city,” creating a natural contrast between the two words.

I carried this idea into the logo, using a large half-circle joined with a smaller half-circle to visually represent the relationship between a small-scale brewery and the big ideas it embodies.

Can Design

The can labels were designed as a flexible visual system, allowing the core BigSmall Brewing identity to remain recognizable while colors, patterns, and typography can shift from one beer to the next.

Rather than forcing every beer into the same visual style, the system provides a consistent foundation that can adapt to the character of each individual brew, leaving room for every new beer to express its own personality while still feeling unmistakably BigSmall.
